BE THE CHANGE

YOU WANT TO SEE ON

THE ROAD

#chooseroadsafety

Lowes believes in a thriving regional community. For our communities to thrive, we need to reduce the heavy burden that rural road fatalities is taking on our communities.

Rural road fatalities represent two thirds of the toal road fatalities in Australia.  This affects all of our families, friends, co-workers and visitors in our communitites.

To reduce the disproportionate number of rural road fatalities this year, the Australian Road Safety Foundation is asking us to take responsibility for ourselves and others, obey the road rules and be safe road users. Whether you’re a Lowes’ Professional Driver, use rural roads to get to and from work, or use rural roads when visiting family and friends, we all have a piece of the puzzle to take responsibility for. To take responsibility as a driver, passenger, bike rider or pedestrian we can:

During September and October, Lowes Petroleum are, again, proudly supporting the Australian Road Safety Foundation with local events and employee engagement initiatives to continue to raise awareness of this important issue and celebrate our Lowes Professional Drivers.

We believe that raising awareness of rural road safety is something that we should continue to work on. So, during the next few months, we will continue to raise awareness with activities and events designed to support our professional Lowes’ drivers, depot staff and administration teams who travel our rural highways and back roads daily.

Together, we will raise awareness in our local communities that we all live and work in to help minimise the horrific levels of fatalities on our rural roads.

BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE ON THE ROAD & #CHOOSEROADSAFETY

Did you know?
Rural road crashes account for more than 65% of the Australian road toll. The rate of serious road-related injury among residents in rural areas is nearly twice that of those in major cities.

What can you do?

Take the pledge personally and watch out for how you can participate as a part of the Lowes Team and your community.
You can also share your commitment with your local community on Facebook using the hashtag #LowesRuralRoadSafety

Take the Pledge

Lowes takes rural road safety very seriously. There’s a lot that we can do to keep ourselves and others safe on local roads.

We look forward to being the change we want to see and travelling these roads safely together.
